Apex connection help

You need to find out what IP the apex has now...Does fusion work with the hard wire connection?
I am unable to get fusion to work with the hard wire connection. I have never linked through fusion before so I went through the registration process and still no connection.

I did find the IP address. The IP address for my wireless matches the one I am trying to connect through on the Apex.

I will try the toll you linked to

Well, not a good time to register to fusion now that you lost the display. There is a token to read from the display so trash that plan for now. When things are up and running, I highly recommend that you setup fusion...Just in case something like this happens again.

Second part, I'm confused of why you mentioned your wireless device..I thought you do hardwire now while the apex is not working with the app...
However, if you are back to the wireless device, this device has an admin page where you can see what IP it gives the apex....

sorry for the confusion. Tech talk is like a foreign language to me so I am sure I am making this harder than it has to be.

Here is how I have typically connected to and controlled my apex:
Router (AT&T) => Wireless Adapter (Netgear) => hardwired to APEX Lite Ethernet port => Accessed via iPhone and/or iPad app

This worked for me long after my display broke. Recently, it stopped connecting and the things I typically do to get it reconnected have not worked (i.e. - restarting all the devices)

So, I purchased an ethernet cable long enough to connect directly from my AT&T Router to my Apex but I dont know how to connect to the APEX because the display is down

I tried to access the wireless device admin page and it says I am unable to access it. It instructed me to connect the wireless directly into the router with an ethernet cable and type in the default IP address. I did this and it will not connect.

OK, I understand. There are many ways to do this. How about we are trying to get the apex online first then work on the wireless device later? With fusion working, it will be a lot easier to find out the ip things....
1. disconnect the netgear wireless device (no power to this device)
2. download the apex browser tool
3. unzip that file and run the tool to locate your apex...
4. This will give you the apex ip address
5. Use this IP in the phone app....
6. There are way to get fusion token without the display but that is after you get the apex online and be able to access the apex web server using a computer or phone app.

Or Locate a reef buddy and borrow a display....I am in OC, same state and I do have a display you can borrow

Thank you. I will run through that list and see if I can figure it out.

It may be easiest to borrow a display. I'll see what I can find locally

I've been following this for a bit. I am not sure what "app" you are using to try and access fusion/and or apex.
As I understand it, right now you have the apex hardwired with an ethernet cord directly to your router. If so, this is good.
Do you have a home computer or laptop you can use to run the utility @ngvu1 posted a link to? Forget about using your wireless devices (iphone/ipad etc) for right now...once you get the address, we can then solve that issue.
First thing you need to do, now that you have it hardwired, is run that utility on a computter attached to your network. When you do that, write the ip number (similar to 192.168.1.20) down. Once you've done that, come back here and we can guide you through the next steps.

One step at a time.

When I said "app", I meant controlling my apex through my phone or iPad.

I have been out all day but will try to connect again tonight with the hardwire. When I tried yesterday, I was unable to access the utility in my laptop but I will try again and post back here.

Thank you.

Update:

Ok, I downloaded the program. Just to make sure I did things properly, this is where things are:

* I connected the Apex directly to my router
* the Status light on the Apex is solid green
* the light on the ethernet connection on the Apex is on
* I downloaded Apex Browse and hit "Search for Controllers"
* the program did not discover anything

Let me know if I need to do something different or try another step
