yeah i know but how do i control it from my ipad on my ipad it has all this preset names and im trying to figure out wich one is the number 1 outlet

You'll have to access it via the IP address that your controller has, via the Neptune app (you'll still need a IP address), or connect directly by a Ethernet cable from a PC or laptop but by iPad you'll can go:
Open either Safari or Chrome>in the address bar put your apex IP address (10.0.0.? or 192.168.?.?) this connect to the Apex controller IF you've set this up, you'll then be asked for a User Name and Password (which you would have set already IF you have) then your in the controller at the Dashboard
As you look in the upper part you'll see CONFIGURATION click it and a drop down menu will appear then you'll see OUTLET.

If you don't have the manual that's free from the Neptune site I strongly recommend it, it does into detail on this plus pictures and they also have a forum to assist you if you get stuck.
The manual:
http://www.neptunesystems.com/support/docs/

The forum
http://forum.neptunesystems.com/forum.php

Go to config:
Go to outlet set up
click the drop down and then you will see all of your VDM ports, the email and alarms and then the EB8 outlets will be listed with names and (x_1), (x_2),(x_3), (x_4) and so on. The x represents the location of the EB8. The number is the outlet regardless of the name.

Use safari on your iPad instead of the app I notice it connects better than the app.

A simple way would be to attach your lights to the outlets and turn them on one at a time and see which outlets go with which name
