I don't have the apex, but I did recently get an Aquacontroller III and absolutely love having it. I think you would be very happy with an Apex.

I have the Jr. I just want to upgrade. I like being able to see whats going on from my phone.
I have an ACIII and am upgrading to the Apex here shortly - already placed order. I have heard nothing but good things. All of the capabilities of the ACIII and then some! I think you can buy one with confidence! And you will love being able to monitor everything via your phone. I do it all the time with my ACIII.

I have an Apex and have nothing but good things to say about it! I have the Apex app on my Droid and love being able to control different pieces of tank equipment with my phone. I used to own one of the controllers that competes against the Apex, it made me use lots of profanity...and so did their customer service!
