A few mornings ago, I woke up to a heartbeat notification saying that I am not connected to Fusion. My house is prone to power outages so I assumed that’s what was going on. Then I notice I have WiFi and the ceiling fan is running. Odd. I go to my tank and everything is running. The apex light is Orange and the tablet I have hooked up as a screen for fusion works and controls everything. Super odd.

I start to make my coffee when another heartbeat occurs, to which I am directed to look at diagnostics. “Your apex has disconnected from Fusion 124 times in the past 24 hours. Your device may be corrupted. Please contact....”

My heart dropped. I just dropped $800 on this thing for it to poop out on me three weeks later. I emailed Neptune with the numbers listed in diagnostics. A few hours, Morgan emailed me back and said basically “Yep, it’s corrupted. “ and paraphrasing, “Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”

He sent me instructions on how to reset the device. This would invariably cause me to lose all of my logs and all of my settings. Bummer. I waited till last night and reset everything. Initially after restarting, I only had 4 out of the 8 outlets available. No virtual or anything. I deleted the EB and then unplugged the aquabus cable.

This worked like a charm and I saw all of my outlets. Now long story short, I’ve NEVER gotten my salinity probe to read correctly. It read all over the place. After recalibrating it, it’s suddenly working. The reading is spot on.

My temp also was off a few degrees, but now more accurate.

I will say, resetting the apex was scary. I wasn’t sure what I would be getting myself into but if you take your time and remember to unplug your auto doser, you’ll be fine.

Always nice to hear things turn out for the best :)

Apex notorious for temp alarms. I always adjust and set my ranges a tad higher to avoid interruption

I don't have an apex but thinking about pulling the trigger... Is there no way to backup/export/import the data before/after a system reset?

For my situation the apex was corrupted so I couldn’t transfer over the previous programming.
