I have one that is the 2016 full system sealed in box that I would let go if your interested. NJ location you would have to pay shipping but the controller itself does not go on sale.

PM if interested (yes you will get it for under 800)

Apex is MAP pricing, so no unless Neptune authorizes the sale which is hardly ever.
Yeah, but there are ways around it to get someone to buy from a certain company, IE: Apple. If you buy a iphone from Target, you pay the full price but Target gives you say a $50 gift card to entice you to buy from them. So what company wants the business, if they are all the same.

Well, I don't think this works in this hobby/industry especially with the big brands. If I recall correctly, BRS can't even give increased reward points on Apex gear during their preferred reefer/group buy sales. If they can't give points worth store credit, I wouldn't expect any non-Apex sanctioned sales or discounts. On that note, if Neptune approves a sale/promotion/discount/bundle savings, etc. etc., it will generally be available to all their authorized retailers, not likely to be an individual retailer having an advantage over the others.

I have heard of local shops offering discounts for Veterans and things of that nature but I think the owner/operator has to make up the difference. I also know of a couple of shops that offer store credit equivalent to a "discount". Ex. Buy a $1500 Red Sea Reefer and we will give you $150 in store credit. But they still sell you the product at the MAP pricing.

Correct. When I originally bought my apexjr. The store gave me A credit of 50 towards a free coral

Unless you're urgently needing one it might be worthwhile to at least wait until MACNA in a week or two. All APEX items were 10% off during MACNA last year.

To keep in mind, they also just came out with the ApexEL. It is a lot cheaper then the Apex. It is missing a few things, just the variable speed ports, salinity and orp probe. All of which can be added later through modules. The rest is 100% the same and has all the same future integration capabilities with the Trident etc.

The rest of the above information is correct. If a store is caught offering an unauthorized discount, they will loose the ability to sell Apex products. Even if you look at the fine print of the in-stores sales and discounts, there will be a note saying some products not included or MAP prices not included.
