I'm going to be building a water making station in the basement and am considering a DOS for continuous AWC for my tank on the first floor. The tank is about 12 feet above and 30 feet over from the area I'd like to set up the water station.
I'm wondering if it matters whether the DOS is placed near the tank or near the water station. I like the idea of having it in the basement since the under stand area is already a bit cramped and I've heard that the DOS can be a little noisy depending upon the speed and volume being pushed. I am willing to spend on the necessary cabling and tubing but I've started to wonder whether there is any additional safety net provided by having the DOS on the first floor instead of the basement.
It seems like the DOS would be very unlikely to create a siphon from the sump due to the nature of the pump design.
Has anyone encountered any problems or potential disasters by placing a DOS on a floor that is lower than the tank?
