Apex DOS manual flushing

Ok, I’ve been using dos units for quite awhile now but just recently upgraded from a classic to an a3. When I originally set things up, there was no real way to manually flush the awc remove lines as when pressing the button on the dos or moving the slider in fusion to on runs the dos forward, not reverse. So, about once a year I flush the lines with diluted muriatic acid solution as they get some calcium deposits and clog eventually. With anything other than the awc remove, I just stick the feed line into a bottle filled with the cleaning solution and the output line in a bucket and run the dos until it’s empty, let it sit for about thirty minutes, then flush with rodi and put it all back. With the awc remove I swap the lines at the dos head and then do the same thing. With my declining vision and motor skills, I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s an easy way to run a dos in reverse, manually through fusion now? I had tried a dose profile in the past but it didn’t work out great as it doesn’t let you run the unit for any length of time as it chops up the run into short segments over a period of time. Let me know, otherwise I’ll have to keep on truckin as I am now. At one point I even popped the head off and used a drill with a Phillips bit to flush but that was before i put on the john guest fittings.

Edit. I should have added that the awc remove discharge line goes into the wall, up into the attic, where it’s connected to a drain line and is not accessible for flushing.

It may not be the best solution for you, but I manually configured (not from the task list) my DOS for AWC and set both pumps to "forward". Much easier to calibrate and prime/flush this way. The main reason I did this was so that I could adjust the in and out volumes separately to get a very exact match that I could not get with calibration task.

I’m a stupid! So freaking simple…. It’s genius! Secretly pounding my head against the wall wondering why I never thought of this over all these years. I’m all over this, thanks like a million

Doh! A whole two seconds to change remove to add in the settings and swap the lines around and it works perfect. Freaking years of calibrating hassle wasted. It’s now much simpler. Thanks for the info!
 
Glad it helped. The only down side of doing it this way (if you care) is that the log of the AWC removed will show as + instead of -.

No worries there. Positive side to this, I had hacked the dos to show the ddr volume graphs on my mixing station years back when I could see better and on a classic apex I could just click fill to fill the graph for mixed saltwater. When I upgraded to the a3 a few months back I couldn’t do that without manually entering a volume for the remove side. Now I can click fill again and it fills the mixed saltwater as well as the removed saltwater. One less step. I really don’t know why I do it as I can’t see the graphs anymore…. Just habit I guess
