First let me first say, I have no sponsors or skin in the game. I have an apex system for 1 year and the mobius versa since it was released to the public. I have been in the hobby for over 20 years.

APEX DOS:
PROS:
1) great integration and easy setup
2) will alert you if malfunctions
3) for automatic water changes, will shut off if the other isn't working
4) able to do scheduling with confidence in even very small intervals

CONS:
1) if you are doing automatic water changes over 2 gallons a day it is pretty loud

VERSA:
PROS:
1) able to do much greater dosing at a fraction of the noise. For example can easily do a 10 gallon water change a day and practically hear nothing
2) good customer service

CONS:
1) For automatic water changes, if one pump shuts off, the other keeps going. It has happened to me more then once (even after it was working without any changes to mobius).
2) Mobius software is inconsistent. Sometimes one of the pumps will not be recognized, and you have to individually reset the device and start from scratch all over again.
3) questionable callibration: after callibrating "in" pump and "out" pump, I find that my sump will consistently be off over 2 inches after a 4 gallon water change (if I disable my ATO).
4) unable to shut off outside of bluetooth or manual unplug. For example, if an alarm goes off: How do you shut it off?? I have mine hooked up to apex for on/off functionality.

Current plan:

I have moved my 2 part ESV dosing and 2 gallon per day AWC to my APEX DOS.

I will move my 4 VERSA PUMPS to my planted freshwater tank as they require much lower volume water changes (will not be on a scheduled mode) and much less critical daily supplementation.

I really don't care if there are haters out there. 600 dollars for the versa x4 is a lot. It represents good value (I really looks cool and is very quiet and small). Hopefully, they fix Mobius once and for all.

Good summary, though I didn’t really follow the last point. Expensive or good value? Not sure what ‘haters’ have to do with anything.

My brief experience with the versa .... seems a more robust pump than the DoS though the lack of integration and möbius frustrations made it a non starter for me ... for now. DoS is noisy, no question, though with a basement sump room and big external AC pumps, it’s somewhat irrelevant.
