I have been having an issue with my relatively new Apex Eb8 reading amps correctly. It spikes from 94 amps to 0 throughout the day. Neptune has looked at it twice and has determined that it is caused by interference (not a hardware issue). We went as far as to unplug everything from the energy bar, as well as anything else in the room that was near and could not determine what the interference is from. Has anybody experienced anything like this with the energy bar? As of right now, they have pretty much given up on their end. My only option is to just remove the amp tile and not use it anymore.

Lol yeah....for some reason I don't think I am pulling 94 amps :) It has been calibrated already by Neptune which unfortunately didn't help.

If it's new (less than 1 year), I would hope they would have offered to replace it since it seems defective and the maximum allowable amps is not to exceed 15 amps. The amp tile is just a reference but really it should be fairly accurate lol. I hope Neptune is nice enough to resolve them problem for you, good luck.

Thanks Saltman....still working with them. The Apex is only a couple of months old but they don't think it is an issue with the unit...more the environment that it is plugged in to.

Possibly faulty house wiring? Are the outlets wired correctly and not touching eachother?

Yes, the house is wired correctly (my father-in-law is an electrician :)) After talking with Neptune last night, they are saying the issue is the Apex is reading the house electrical at 55Hz rather than the normal 60Hz. I did confirm after talking with them that the house is at 60Hz (checked multiple outlets, including the Eb8 outlets). They have remoted in almost daily for several days so they are still looking into it.

Jduck, to answer your questions, yes I have tried plugging both into a surge protector and a UPS. Neptune actually had me try with and without a surge.

Just for process of elimination, maybe you could take the base unit and EB8 to a friends house to setup? If it still has the issue, the problem is within the Apex. If it works as intended, then something within your home is causing the errors in readings.

That is a good idea....just seems like too much work lol.
