They absolutely work with the EB8.

Well, where did you learn that from? The EB832 does not work with the classic base but the other way around it OK

He’s right. The eb8 will work with the new apex brains including the EL. You’re also right that the new eb832 does not work with the apex classic brains. The brain is the workhorse and is backwards comparable. Sadly the apex classic brain is not forwards compatible. Hope this helps!
