I'm putting together a new setup and would like to incorporate my first apex into it. I've always been a dj power strip kinda guy, but I'm going with an aquaforest system and want to have dosing and feed modes automated as much as possible.

I'll probably buy a used controller to keep costs down, but I'm not 100% sure on what modules and accessories I will need to accomplish my goals.

I need 2 outlets for the main lights
1 to dim reef brites
1 for the return
1 for skimmer
3 for brs dosers
1 for ATO
2 for each gyre
And 1 or 2 for the heaters

Near as I can tell I just need a basic apex with an extra dc8 for the dosers / ato. The dimming of the 2 48" reef brites (xho) and icecap controllable gyre have me pretty confused. I'd also like a float skimmer shut-off, and to change my current ATO to an apex.

Sorry for the wall of text, but any help I can get on putting hardware together would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I went full blown Apex for the reason of adding modules and probes cost more in the long run. With the new Apex one will not need a PM2 module, it looks built in now and all the probes are lab grade(lab grade are the better probes) I am running 2 EB8 and 1 EB4 with my system and I also use Aquaforest

@jsker, are you using the DOS pumps for your elements?
