Ah, one other case I can think of. Some dosing pumps will dose as soon as you turn the pump back on (marine color for instance and probably a bubble magus). Because of this, you may want a DEFER statement otherwise what could happen is pH > 8.4 turns it off... once the pH falls below 8.3 it turns back on and then it dumps more alk in the tank which turns it back off and you get an infinite cycle....
So, something like the following:
---
Fallback ON
SET ON
if pH > 8.4 then OFF
DEFER 000:10 THEN OFF
DEFER 005:00 THEN ON
---
The DEFER 000:10 THEN OFF will make sure that pH > 8.4 for 10 seconds before turning it off
The DEFER 005:00 THEN ON will make sure that the outlet has been in the ON position for 5 minutes before turning it ON. This means that as soon as pH reaches 8.3, it will wait 5 minutes before physically turning the outlet back on. Do realize that this also means it will wait 5 minutes whenever you first put the outlet into 'AUTO' on the apex.
