Apex Jr or apex classic questions

Other than. Number of modules, and no trident, is there any other downsides to picking up one of these used? Is there an end of life in firmware updates, or any dangers there? I need some control, just not all that the new models offer.

The older models are not compatible with the EB832 energy bar. Be aware if you buy a used unit, the probes must be stored wet otherwise they will need to be replaced.

I'm sure there will be an end of life for firmware updates at some point, but not sure of the date. The most recent Classic update was in August 2019.

Ia that the temp probe too? That's honestly the only probe I'm interested in .

No, the temp probe can be dry with no problem. The pH, ORP, and salinity probes all are shipped with protective caps containing liquid.

Makes sense. I was most worried about getting in a situation like the old reef keepers are they stop supporting them so you have to spend a ton to upgrade. I basically I want alerts, heater control, and the ability to shut things off as needed.
