Not sure which one to buy or which one will benefit me more
I currently run a 30g mixed reef tank with a sump, skimmer, and have rapid leds for lighting.
Will also add a reactor again soon and hopefully a doser. And adding a heater soon. Want to monitor ph salt and temp...

Thanks
John (flowflezy) and Ashley :)

I am kinda in the same boat as you. I just started researching controllers myself... I have never used one before so kinda in the dark on what I am looking for out of this semi-pricey piece of equipment..

Check out brs.com they have a comparison chart on the website to help decide what will work for your needs. You will have to buy the Ph probe separate with both units I believe.

Def too pricey to be unsure about what you're getting lol

I'm thinking the lite because it controls 8 different things. Jr 4 and has a ph port. Anyone have the 2 whats the difference and what would u buy now?

I purchased the Apex Lite originally thinking that it would be all I'd ever need then..................went crazy with DIY LED fixture, added Ozone Generator which in turn had to purchase a PM-1 for the new ORP probe and a VDM module for ramping LED's and additional EB-8 for all the LED Drivers.

Would have been cheaper and less cluttered if I had gone with a Full Apex to start with so..... just sayin' if you plan on any upgrades spend the extra $100 up front you won't regret it later.

Cheers, Todd

The full apex, as TJ stated, has the vdm module built In. So you can control a 0-10v lighting system. I control my Kessil's through it.

In the long run, it will be better to get the full version.

Thanks found a great deal on the full version can't wait to get it.

:) lol yeah... Any tips for setting it up are always greatly appreciated :p

I have the lite with a ph probe. I didn't get the full because I have no use for variable ports and I do not plan on running ozone. My suggestion is to get the lite with ph probe unless you want to control a DIY LEDs or want to run ozone. Just as an FYI, neptune will be discontinuing the apex lite very soon and raising all the prices for the jr and the regular. I believe the price for the regular will be increasing by $40, not sure about the jr.

Thanks! :) we went with the full because we found a good deal and he will prob wish he had later if he bought other one. Who knows lol

You found a GREAT deal ;). You will enjoy.

Having the Apex app on your cell phone is very handy as well.

Will be at the house on Monday can't wait

Yay :) lol can't wait for John to get home so I can see everything it does :p

Will they be dropping the lite because the lack of sales or some other issue ?

That sure is a fine looking APEX you have there! Let me know what he thinks.
