Sorry. I am very “non-techy” so I don’t even know what Apex I have, but I took a picture:

Now, my very basic questions:

I have the power strip for it mounted under my stand..... the cable in that picture connects to that right?

Also, I know this one doesn’t have Wifi, but I want to set it up or at least start setting it up...... can I do that with screen provided?

My probes and Auto-Top-off just plug into that white-orange box...... will the screen thing “talk me through” it? Or do I have to connect it to my internet and get an app etc first?

Thanks!

You have the Classic. This will help you put it together.

Also, it appears I don’t have a power supply for it. I have a power supply for my Fluid monitoring thing for it, but not the actual unit. I have a spare that is

Class 2 Power Supply
INPUT: 100-240V 50-60HZ 1.2A max
OUTPUT: 24.0V 2.7A 65W max

Is that the right size?

Your power will be supplied by the Apex strip plugs when you connect all with the USB bus cables. I beleive you can power the base unit(that is the one one on the right in your pic) with a DC adapter for battery backup reason. But I would really lean towards contacting Neptune on power supply specs or use one of theirs.

Your EB8 provides power to the apex head unit via the USB cable. I suggest you read the apex get started guide

Thanks! Looks like some ethernet cable pulling is in my future.....

Not necessary- any cheap wifi adapter (wifi extender, etc) can be plugged into the ethernet port.

$16 works fine.

Oh nice! Does a short ethernet cable connect directly to that then? Again, non-techy guy here!

Just be aware, especially with cheaper wifi units, that you may not end up with a reliable connection. If you are able to pull a cable, i would highly recommend doing so.

It’s 15 feet away in the same room. My wifi is good as is...... maybe I will pull the cable if this doesn’t work out

I have the same Apex model and like you, I am not tech savvy as all. My Wifi and my tank are on different floor in the house. I use a simple extender and it works fine.
