I'll start by saying I'm not the most technological person there is, but I think I know enough to get by. I have a Classic Apex (Orange Label) that will not connect to Fusion. I've been messing around with it all morning to no avail. Here are the details in bullet points to hopefully clarify what's going on. Everything was working fine as of last evening. Woke up to:
  • The main unit (brain) is on and has a solid green light
  • I have it hard wired to my modem
  • Both the green and orange lights are on where the Ethernet cable attaches to the brain
  • The display screen is a solid blue color - no data
  • All other modules attached, including the two EB8's are blinking orange, not a solid light as normal
  • Oddly, nearly everything plugged in to the EB8's are at least running
  • The lights didn't come on (so they are not working) which is what brought this to my attention
  • The flow pumps were not on either
  • Everything else seems to be working - even though the powerbars are blinking orange
What I've attempted (Some multiple times):

  • I have unplugged the Apex and all related equipment several times trying to "reset" it.
  • I can't reset the Apex via the display because it's blank
  • I can not sign on to Fusion
  • I can not get it to pull up to the old dashboard through my network
    • When I try, it says the site can't be reached or Refused to Connect
  • I swapped out the cable model/router thinking that was it - no difference
So, I'm at a loss. My first thought was is it didn't like the time change. But I can't figure out how to get in it to reset it.

Anyone have any suggestions here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you may have a short in you system. I would disconnect all the USB cables from the brain. Then start plugging things in one at a time. Start with the display.
If the brain has failed you are kinda out of luck. However, if you have a short or ground in your system it could be drawing down voltage causing it to not work correctly, that is what this will check for.

Thanks @Brew12. That is one of the first things I did. I only have one USB cable plus the display cable in the brain. Neither of them seem to be the issue.

I'm beginning to think it's a brain fart and I'm out of luck.

That is not good. I think it is a brain fart... I guess you could verify that by disconnecting all the USB cables from the brain and trying to connect via Fusion. If that doesn't work I suspect you are SOL :(

Thanks Pal. I think I have come to the conclusion that this thing is toast. I'm assuming if I pick up another brain unit, the other items will be okay. But I guess time will only tell me that.

That should be the case, fortunately.

@Brew12, nothing a new brain couldn't fix. Swapped it out tonight, got everything reprogrammed that I remembered how to, and all seems to be working...knock on wood.

Is it just a reefing truth that it is always going to be the most expensive part that breaks, fish that jumps, or coral that RTN's?

Glad you got it up and working!
