Not a long shot. They're for sale all the time. Operative word, though, is "cheap"...
I bought a used one sight unseen and I probably wouldn't do that again. I got a good price, if it had been in good working order. But I had to send in various pieces to finally get a display problem fixed. By the time it was over I could have bought a new system for the same money.
From other peoples' experiences I've read about I sort of lucked out. If you can, I would recommend you inspect it, see that it all works and that there's no corrosion. Apex repair prices are reasonable, but they can add up. Also, with used you get no warranty.
