I am about to setup a new tank 60G, and used to use apex for over a year but I would like to make a change so I sold it...

My idea is to have inkbird for my heathers and cooler.

2 x Kasa power strip for PH probes x 2 - sump light - reactor - powerhead - mean display light and auto feeder

2 OR 3 x Kasa single power plug with energy monitoring for return pump and other for auto top off and last one for versa pump.

AND Mobius to control my Versa pump, 2 x MP40, Versa S2, 2 Radions G5.

Mobius was a game changer hey!

In resume Mobius will control al the movement on the tank and Kasa will give the way to control over the phone for less them 1/3 of the APEX price...

WOULD THAT WORK?

Apex is like apple, any other system is probably like android. Apple is selective in products that are compatible and can be harder to configure (although possible and I use an apex). I don’t know much about the mobius but it’s probably not the same quality, not entirely sure, but has a lot less cost and probably more hands on configurable options compared to an apex my jebao wavemakers are not supplied energy because the apex is actual garbage... annoying but if price is a concern checkout the market place there are tons of good deals on slightly used equipment. I’ve gone cheap and done semi expensive it’s hard to pick between the two but more up front can save you tons later when it comes to a system failure!! Equipment will eventually fail you just gotta be ready for when it does and know when it does :)

Apex for monitoring and turning things on and off. Mobius to control flow on my MP40 and Vectra M2. Separate heater controller that does the controlling with the Apex as a backup to turn off the outlet in case temp goes too high.

I think @Hemmdog used Kasa power strips and plugs very successfull.
