I need a controller to control my leds and would like it to control my calcium recator as well. But more importantly i want it to ramp up the leds to mimick sunrise and sunset. Can the reefkeeper elite do this or should i spend the extra $130 and get the apex? I am buying one in the next day or so, so any help would be great.

If I'm correct, you will need to purchase the ALC (Advanced Light Conroller) to dim your LEDs with the ReefKeeper.

The Full Apex, comes with that option standard.

IMO, Apex all day long. I've had one for several years now and have no complaints.

Ive heard that you can control the apex from your phone but you can moniter your tank with the reefkeeper but i dont know any other difference and i have the rke and i like it over the apex but thats just my preferance

reef angel is a better buy. You get a lot more out of box then any other controller plus you can customize the programs by writing your own code. Or they have a new code wizard that is pretty sweet. You owe it to yourself to at least look at it.

i checked out the reef angel..not for me...two locals have the reefkeeper and apex and i saw them both in action yesterday. IMO the reefkeeper is a distant second to the apex, so I ordered it today!!

cool either way any controller is better than none! Congrats on your purchase :)

thanks I agree i would have probably bought the reef angel over the reefkeeper but sibce i have a iphone and ipad I went with the apex and having a local with one already to help me out was a big plus.

I've heard good things about the ReefAngel, just haven't used one.

You will be happy with the Apex. The ability to check numbers from your phone, setup alarms, and control so many tanks from one base module is nice.
