I have decided to go all out on buying a controller but i cant really find any information between the two. I mainly need one since i travel at least once a month for work
what are your recommendations and why?

Thank you

These are two completely different platforms. Reeflinks work with Ecotech products MP pumps, radions, M1 returns and so forth. Apex is like the brain of a whole tank, if you buy the modules. You can get modules that can read your temp, PH, salinity, dose your tank from a far, feed your tank adjust your lights, a ton of things. Pretty much your comparing buying a car or a bicycle. I run both just so my mp10s are doing exactly what I want. I run my apex to tell me my temp, turn off returns for feeding, and auto feed when I am away from the tank.
I hope that helps!

Currently i own the Vectra M1 pump have been reading that they work with apex on some forums and also that they don't as off right now that is what i have in the tank as well as a Sea Gel reactor

yes you can run it with I believe a WXM module with the APEX. I just really like the simplicity of the programing on reeflink.

I personally will be running a reeflink for my pumps and lights when I get my 120 up. I'll also be using a pair of finnex heaters running off of one of their controllers. Nice and simple [emoji4]

@MaddyP if you're looking to part with your reeflink send me a pm [emoji6]

You missed it by two days! Just sold it. :P

That was unlucky lol well running the pump is not as bad but I've seen that apex has way more stuff to do to make everything more simple
Very true, the Apex is extremely versatile. I've used both to run Radions and vortechs and I just like Apex because of the ease of programming. It also seems much more stable. I had connections issues the entire time using the reeflink.

Apex will be coming out with cor (hopefully this year *third year that's been said*) which will be the vectra version

Apex let's you control any outlet you plug in, so that's something reef link can't do

Many apex accessories

I have the 2016 apex and I've made far less mistakes since I got it, very much worth shelling out the money for it

It's really amazing what you can do with a full-controller. I don't use an Apex (I use a Reef Angel), but all of the full-controllers offer the ability to do things you never thought about but turn out to be very important. People talk about controlling heaters with controllers, but that doesn't scratch the surface. Very often problems you encounter can be solved with your controller. For instance, I was having a problem with my pH getting too high due to my kalk additions via my kalk stirrer. I first found that when not stirring, the pH didn't get as high (makes sense). I then set my controller to where when I hit a certain pH, the stirrer turns-off. When the pH lowers to a different point, The stirrer turns back on. Therefore, I'm either topping-off with concentrated kalk or plain ole kalk... depends on my pH.

We have an Apex and overall like it. Being able to turn on/off everything remotely is nice, plus the scheduling ability. My main gripe about it is the probes are terrible. We basically don't use the salinity one because it will randomly show super high or low readings. The PH one seems to be reliable. It also has some odd quirks. For example sometimes when we turn things off if we try and put them back on the schedule they don't actually come on, instead we have to turn them on, then switch them to "auto" so they follow the schedule. Not a huge deal but there are small issues like that, which is rather annoying considering the cost of the system.

Apex, very expandable, the Fusion web site works great remotely. I think you'll be very happy going this route.

I have love my Apex. I use it to control my Radion and Vortech also. I also have a BRS doser on it and use it for all the typical PH and Temp control/monitoring. I find the support is very friendly and willing to help. If I'm having problems with something, it's typically bcause I was just doing something wrong with the programming. It's very easy to make adjustments once you understand it. I also use it to log all my test readings and they have all the various test kit brands already built into the program.
