Hello everyone. I am a little stumped here and I'm not sure what to do or even check. My ORP since I set up my apex a few weeks ago has not read any higher than 275. I am getting a solid 210-195 ORP reading no matter what I do. Even after water changes it doesn't even change much. Anyone ever run into this? What can I check? I have checked for air bubbles in the probe, no big time water movement near the probe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your tank is ok, I wouldn’t worry. I have had an apex for 2 years now. It took me about 6 months of measuring ORP before I disconnected it and used the port for other purposes.

If your tank is new/young it seems that they appear to read low orp. Personally I find the ORP probe useless, there is such a wide range and no evidence of one being better then the other. Randy has articles about orp and how unclear the values are. Ultimately imo ORP is only really useful if you are running ozone. Eventually when I get a calcium reactor I will disconnect mine and use the port as a ph probe for the reactor.

I ignored ORP for the most part, just used it as a guide. If it suddenly changed a lot, I figured something was wrong.
