Apex ph control for calcium reactor????

hello, I currently just hooked my calcium reactor up to my apex. The ph is set between 6.7 - 6.5 here is my configuration please let me know if I need to change anything. My apex is not shutting the solenoid off. Thanks

Cool! I actually keep my ph range tighter on my CaRx. 6.9 to 6.97.
 
When I started with my Vertex CaRx I had a wider range. I think (.15) As I was able to dial in my alk and calcium I reduced the range down and numbers stayed more and more stable.

What’s so good about calcium reactors is how slow your numbers change. You have to set a range like you have and watch your numbers. If your desired alk for instance is 8.0 but your alk tests at 10.0 you will need to slowly raise your ph range and burn less elements. Vice versa if your alk is lower you then desired you would raise it. Eventually you will find that number or sweet spot where alk and calcium stays within a close tight range. Of course these can change of coral consumption changes in future.

Best way to run a CaRx is to adjust it so that it runs continuously. I only use pH control as a failsafe. I do use apex to cycle the CO2 solenoid once a day so it doesn’t get stuck open.

I keep reading this, like to have the whole process take anywhere from 40-60 mins, so I am using a carbon Doser, back to my Milwaukee controller... are you suggesting something like injecting less CO2 so the process takes longer to bring the ph in the reactor down?
 
No I’m saying to set the CO2 and effluent rates so that your target alkalinity is maintained without cycling the solenoid on an off. You can do this by getting a stable target pH; or if you don’t measure pH, a stable alkalinity either in the effluent or in the tank.
