Probe is drifting from 6-8.5 during the day then it’s fine at night. How do I clean it and what else could be the issue. It’s been spot on until a few days ago. Last calibrated a yr ago so I know it’s overdue

Unusual. I would run it through a proper calibration. A year is definitely overdue ;)

See if that fixes the issue.

Out of curiosity, is the pH probe somewhere where light directly hits it? Seems unusual that it only goes out of wack in the daytime. I'm wondering if there is something else at play here.

Clean and calibrate. general normal to fall at night- Not during day.

Yes light hits it but I’ve never had a problem. Been in the same spot for years. But lights are out during the day

How should I clean it? Exactly. I expect the normal day and night changes and it’s usually.2-.4. But this is completely abnormal

Remove the probe, soakin ro water and vinager for 15 minutes, lightly brush clean with a soft tooth brush be care not to damage the sensor, rinse with rodi water, calibrate with 7.0 and 10.0 solutions. If your ph reading continues to drift wildly replace the probe. I clean ane calibrate mine 3 times a year. More often is required if the probe is exposed to light causing algae growth or if the probe is controlling something ie calcium reactor.

Thanks. Can I reuse calibration fluid?

Nope, once it is open it will change due to evaporation. Unless you perform twice immediately in a row and follow the directions and rinse in RODI and dab dry in between packets.

I’d recommend new packets.

If it's been open and old I would not. I just get the single use packets from BRS they are $1 each and if you buy a few on them and a couple other items shipping is free. I toss the packets after using so there is no worry if the fluid is still good.
