Apex PH probe way off after re calibration

So I am new to Apex and got my new ApexEL from BRS last week.
I had it all set up and calibrated my probe and it was reading properly in the 8-8.1 range. Well, that evening I had some connectivity issues with the Apex and it wouldn't connect for me after I had it up and running. So I deleted it off my profile and did the setup again and all was good. It seemed like everything I set up in my Apex was still there saved but since I was new to this I wasn't sure if my PH probe calibration got messed up. It has been reading in the range of 8.05-8.1 for the past week
So I ordered 2 packs of 7 and 10 and got them yesterday. I calibrated the probe again and everything said successful. I washed the probe in fresh RODI before each packet, I also float the packets in the tank for about 10min to match the temp.
After it calibrated it then was reading 7.68 and wouldn't move off that. So I used my 2nd set of packets and once again it's stuck at 7.69 and it jumped up at one point random last night to 8.13 but that was for like 5min.
I checked the reading with my tropic marine kit and it came out to 8.1 around what it was reading beforehand. I have a ticket open with Apex but not sure if the probe went bad in 1week or what. Or did I get a bad batch of calibration fluid and it threw my numbers out of whack?

I do not know if this will help you or not, but there are two ways to calibrate the ph probe, auto and manual. Many claim the apex gets messed up by auto and only calibrate manually. I have done the manual calibration and it is pretty easy. I would suggest getting another set of packets if you can, and re-calibrate manually.

Also, when you are done, leave the probe in the 10 packet and see what it reads. This will visually verify for you that is is calibrated correctly.

I guess I will try that. Sucks I have to buy yet another set of packets. I know they dont cost much but shipping cost more then the packets

Is it possible to just use any 7.0 and 10.0 solution? Or does it have to be Neptune’s packets? My ph just flatlined at 7.89 and hasn’t changed. I’d rather not have to buy the packets everything I need to check something.

Yea, I used Milwaukee ones to manual recalibrate mine. Doesn’t have to be Neptune’s stuff

After calibration retest with the solutions. I thought my probe was off cause my ph was low but even after recalibrating it was still low. Testing the solutions were at 7.01 and 9.99 so it was spot on. Turns out my tank ph was actually low and opening both windows and door to room brought it up to 7.9-8.1.

I keep my solution packs in case I need to reuse them - find they are quite stable for several months or more. I only cut a corner off the pack and once I have finished with it carefully fold the foil pack over 4 or 5 times and secure with a small bulldog clip. They then stay in a nice cool dark cupboard until I want to re-use them. I rinse the probes in RODI and dry with paper towel between PH tests so that I don’t adulterate the solution.
