Apex powerbar work without controller?

I'm currently getting ready to set up my Reefer 350 as an upgrade from my IM 25 lagoon, and I have enough stuff to keep both tanks running, and going to use the 25 as a Q tank while the Red Sea cycles, and the rest of the stuff gets here. I bought a new 8 plug Apex bar as my other one has a dead socket in it. Can I use it without being hooked up into the controller? I just need it to power my return pump, MP40's, 1 of my A360X and the heaters while it cycles, and once I does I'd move the entire controller over.

you can, it will run in whatever the sockets are set for their 'FALLBACK' state or you can just set them as 'Always ON' .
