If you've had luck programming your Stream 3 with your Apex, can you post the programs?

I've been trying to get my Apex to make the Stream 3s pulse and I can't get it to work at all. I'm using the pump profile and setting the min from 0 up to 40 and the max at 100. I've tried on/off times of .3 seconds up to 15 seconds. No matter what program I do, the pump seems to be in constant mode.

Following along.

In the past, I programmed my Tunze 6095 via Apex.
If I remember correctly, it cannot start a pulse from 0 intensity. The minimum setting has to be 30.
It has to be a range of 30 to 100.

Silly question but are you sure you are controlling the pump via your apex correctly? Through the VDM port and have the programming tile set to "automatic" vs "on."

I may have been wrong about setting them on intensity to 0 part. It should work.

I got the information to set up my apex with Tunze from this thread.

Thanks for the help. I do have them connected correctly and set to Auto. The profiles appear on the slider when viewing with the old local dashboard. And they display the correct power setting. But when I put my hand in front of the pump it seems to be just constant. No noticable pulse at all.

When I set the slider to On and adjust the power manually, that works. For some reason the pump will just not pulse with a pump profile.

When I get home I'll try putting min to 30 max to 100 and do 10second pulses.

I have a feeling it has to do with the magnetic levitation of the pump and it doesn't like the Apex commands.

Roger Vitko also said to make sure the DIN connections are fully plugged in. I'm going to check that tonight too.

I love these pumps (aside from being huge). Really want to get a surge going with the Apex....

So I verified the DINs are tight. I'm not using a VDM module. I have the pumps connected to VS3/VS4 on the classic base unit. I verified that I am able to turn the pumps on and off but I cannot control the variable speed at all. Not with a profile and not with the manual slider.

How do you have them mounted and can you post a couple pics? I have a peninsula and I am trying to play around with how best to mount them on the overflow side glass.

I have them mounted horizontally on the sides. I originally had them vertically with the 45 degree deflector but you lose tons of the flow and I decided having a visibly pump on the side panel with amazinng flow was preferable. I also have the new diffuser grill which increases the distance a ton . Forgive the algae on the side panel. I'm experimenting with using that panel as a DT algae scrubber. :)

I also found that they did not have enough power, even at 100%, to reach 6' if they were mounted vertically, using the deflector. Unless you wanted that end to be a very low flow section.

Ya I was going to give the deflectors a whirl but heard they were almost a waste of what the pump can do. I am going to mount them on the side panels like you did and get them going this weekend.

Do you have the new flow rectifier? If you purchased the pump new recently, you do. If you bought them last year, you might not. I bought mine last year before the rectifier came out. Roger V sent me two no charge. If you don't have them, they make a HUGE difference on directing the flow over a long tank. I love these pumps.

I do... Roger was nice enough to send me a couple of them since I have two Stream 3's... super nice of him!

I'm excited to get these in the tank this weekend.

Well turns out that DIN connectors are even more finicky than I thought. I had pushed them in again, pretty forcefully, and they still didn't work. Today I tried pushing them in harder again and they are both working great!
