Ok guys/gals I am a bit embarrassed to say I have the new Apex but have not done much with it at all. got it hooked up a while ago then it went off line and have not messed with it for 4 months or so :/ expensive power strip eh??

so my question are:
I am putting together a planted FW tank and was wondering at the very least if I can run a 2nd heater probe to control the heater so it dont fry the tank if it gets stuck on?

I really was hopping I could get a 2nd relay box just for that tank they will be no more than 10 feet away but more like 6'.

the apex does have the wifi on board is there a way just to just that to send info back in forth to the head unit?

what I am asking here is how to run 2 tanks on 1 apex. I know some of you do just that :D

Not sure what you mean by a relay box, but you can get a PM1/PM2/ASM if you want a second temperature probe (I have five of them LOL). I don't think even the new apex can communicate wirelessly with other modules (though happy to be corrected on this).

ok I mean energy bar not relay box. I know you can have many of them. the old ones are compatible with the new apex correct? I would love one just for the 2nd tank.
ok so I need a PM1 module for another heat prob.

I run three system off the apex and its really easy to setup. Just get yourself a PM1 Module another temp probe, EB8 bar and a aquabust cable. Just connect everything and dont forget to calibrate the temp probe.

@FishOfHex nice! just what I wanted to see and hear.
just to dbl check the older EB8 do work on the new apex correct? any reason why I should get the new EB832 over the older one for this project?

To be honest I have not tried connecting a classic eb8 to the new apex. It would be a great idea if it worked but on the business side of things Neptune wouldn't make nearly as much $ so with that being said I don't think it will work. I will need to look into this myself.

my understanding, although very limited is the apex is compatible with older mods and equipment that was one selling point if I remember correctly.

All the older Modules and older EB8 will work with the New Apex without issues.

Indeed, I have two EB832 and three older EB8 attached to my 2016 apex ..... plus waaay too many other modules. You just don't get the power monitoring sophistication and the accessory ports from the older bars.
