Apex question

I run apex classic and love it, the brain just died
Planning to replacing with new apex , but not sure
If I should buy latest with all probes 799$ or just apex el for 500$ do I really need salinity probe and how accurate is it? And what about ORP probe do I really need it? Please let me know what do you think.

Meh, you don't need it. I was considering buying the budget one as well. The issue that I have is I need two pH probes as I am running a calcium reactor. If you don't need two pH probes and want to save moolah then go budget. But if you ever think you might need an extra pH probe to run in your Ca reactor go high dollar. From what I understand, the salinity probe is chronically unreliable and ORP is not really necessary. I have never monitored ORP and seem to do fine without that monitoring.
