Hello could I use the hanna checker 35 ppt packets to calibrate my apex prob to the 53,000 packets since they are 35 ppt?

I use a manual refractor and set my display tank to exactly 35 ppt then use my display tank as the solution.

I only said no cause I beleive somewhere I read it dont work like that. I’m sure someone will post the exact answer why

Actually I might be wrong sorry. It is said you can’t put the 53,000 solution in a refractor to read 35ppt. With that being said your way might work.

It should and at least put you in range

I can never get it calibrated maybe I should just calibrate it to my sump I’ve tried 3 times with there packets floated them and made sure there’s no air bubbles it makes me so mad

I thought it could be stray voltage but then I took the prob out to see it still wouldn’t work

I have had so many problems calibrating that probe I’ve don’t it like 15x finally after reading so many posts here I put it all together and finally figured it out

This is how I do it.

So first thing important make sure to manually adjust your display take to .035 salt this is important.

Next from apex app click settings button next to salt reading (little gear icon).

Next click advanced button

Next set tc value to 2.2 and click the orange update button in upper right corner and wait for update.

Next click manual calibration button.

Next remove probe from tank and dry. I shake it off some and dry with paper towel and I blow into both holes on probe and into the tip few times while using paper towel to get water off this takes maybe a min.

Next follow the app prompts till you get the option to choose which fluid you will use.

You will be choosing 53,000

Next when at the calibration fluid selection screen now mount probe in sump in the location it will permanently be BUT MOUNT PROBE UPSIDE DOWN WITH TIP POINTING UP THIS IS IMPORTANT SO MICRO BUBBLES DO NOT GET TRAPPED IN PROBE TIP.

Next now that probe is mounted upside down click next button and wait for numbers to stabilize will take few min maybe then click next.
AND YOUR DONE PROBE CALIBRATED TO YOUR .035 tank

This type of probe for Apex is a Problem Child

Doing it this way my probe has actually stayed at 35 for about 3 weeks now and I expect it to stay there

Not if done the way I just posted check it out and try it.
I corrected my issue by simply tilting probe in sump to allow air to escape and much better performance
