apex reverts back to 2008 after power failure

so everytime my electric goes out, my apex reverts back to jan 2008. No matter if i set the auto date time, or put the date time in manually. I set it and if my electric goes out when it comes back on, my display say jan 08 at a random time. I cant figure it out.
