I’ve used mine for 5 years just replaced it not one time have I had a issue float the calibration fluid in your sump to make it match the temperature and put it in a moderate flow area of the sump matched exactly as my Milwaukee every time
 
Crazy how someone else came up with this and not neptune…it seems to work incredibly well…

Mine is also super stable: I 3D printed a version of the same concept and it works amazingly well. Pegs exactly as my refractometer does. Feeds off a manifold just a fairly slow stream of water. From Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4901524

While my graph looks spiky, it's actually showing the slight swings from ATO inputs, and that variation it's plotting is between 35.80 and 35.90 (eg. variations of 0.1). The slight drop from 36.0 to 35.9, now 35.80 represents times I took some water from the tank out to acclimate a coral, or took a large rock out and the volume was replaced with ATO fresh water.
 
How stable is this with temperature change? My tank temperature varies 1.5-2.0 degrees daily and follows Apex seasonal charts for temperature. I manually check my salinity and have it pegged at 35 ppt, but my plots look like this:

Bought the VCA Salinity Probe Stability Kit and the Apex PMUP ......My salinity is 100% flat line and does not move.

I didn't know VCA thingy was working so great.
If this is true I would like to take my words back and get one myself.

Please post graph so I can confirm amd spread the gospel.

Have you calibrated your probe with temperature compensation (tc) in the advanced settings? +2.0 BTW to start.

I’m not as happy as I was first day. Seems things not working properly for me anymore. So I’m changing my initial review

Except for the 1 high peak as I was testing pre made new salt water while mixing. Pretty happy with the probe attachment. 100 times better than without.

Getting swings again? Or is it drifting like mad. I just accepted that mine reads low, like 4ppt lower. I stopped caring, lol.
After reading what it was supposed to do I just thought I’d have more of a flat line type of graph so I’m not sure if this is a temperature compensation thing which I do not have chosen or if this is just the best that gets but even with it on the readings have been pretty erratic

So if you notice there is periods that it does flat line and I would be very happy if those readings would stay consistent but as you see the graph is all over the place and for no reason at all there’s nothing going on in my sump the water stays pretty consistently level along with the added auto top off water is after the sensor so it should not affect anything
 
I’m not convinced this is the fix or either I’m doing something wrong or I have a problem with the device
 
My next thought is to completely isolate the probe cable from the sensor tip all the way to my PM to module right now it’s laying along the rest of the cords and power sources like heaters and pumps. But with that being said before this device ever came out isolating the probe from everything else was already a recommendation by Neptunes which is most likely the issue due to interference from electrical devices

My cable runs right next to 220 line for heater, and 220 line for Chiller......Not sure you'll see a difference isolating the wire. Mine is not at all.
 
Update with some details
See screen shot. Update on VCA Salinity Stability Kit.
The tall spike is testing High Salinity Make up water to gradually elevate Salinity over a 1 week period, the crazy dips in the middle are when the VCA came off the probe somehow. VCA put back on, then I started the AWC DOS heads back up to raise salinity. I dont think this can be any more perfect and actual as I tested daily with Glass hydrometer and Milwaukee digital refractometer. Note the accuracy of the gradual rise with AWC dumping 1.024 and replacing with 1.040 over a 7 day period. I think this is a solid test for the help and accuracy the VCA gives the
