Is it worth to go for used Apex 2016 system or buy new one? Which would you choose?

I have a nice used one I bought. Tanks 6 months old and I never set it up. Maybe I will use it to monitor temp and Ph and not to control anything.
You can find nice used ones for a good price. I guess it all depends on what you want to use it for. If I was to use it as a controller I would purchase new.

Used will save you money obviously but a very dependable unit in general. As long as the used was away from salt creep and moisture- should serve well. Assure the probes work and not dead due to being stored dry

LOL ... depends on the exact age and price. Good deals can be had on used gear, as can bad. I don’t buy much used gear anymore. I tend to think used stuff is worth less than the person selling it.

How do we know if the probes are dry not dry? I mean if they post in sale post... how do we know about it? Are probes expensive to buy? Is probe the only factor that I need to look when buying used one?

I bought one three months old and saved $200. As a matter of fact I bought my Dos, Ddr, Wxm, and afs all used. You just have to be faster than @vetteguy53081 if your buying from the marketplace. ;)

Ask the seller how old they are. The PH probe should be stored with the cap on with a bit of probe storage solution in it. The cost depends on the type of probe. The salinity one is pretty expressive but the ph and temp less so. You can look them up on bulk reef supply to see how much they are.

Yes, The probes can run a couple of hundred so you definitely need to factor that in. LED lights are usually where I buy new as I've been burned a couple of times already.
