Good morning everyone,

I am having a seriously weird problem with my apex. When I woke up for the gym this morning I noticed my tank was super quiet... everything is off. No power seems to be going to any equipment. But the apex is ON. Not only is it on, all lights are green (I have the classic btw), and I can communicate with it through my phone. So everything appears to be okay but it is definitely not.

Another symptom. The AMP levels on the dashboard and on the aquabus controller say that the power is jumping from 0 up to 50 and back down.

Lastly, I have tried resetting everything. Right now I have the main pumps and a heater plugged into a different power source, and my apex completely unplugged. Does anyone have any ideas?

This is a super scary thought... if I didn’t get up for the gym this morning (almost didn’t) I wouldn’t have seen my tank until tonight and by then everything would be dead... without any email alerts or texts!!! I am at a loss with words about apex right now...

I would say a bad EB8?

Try plugging a light into each outlet and manually(through fusion) turning the outlets off and on, and see what happens.

The EB8 is plugged into the wall? Stupid question I know, but you never know.....

So I have 2 EB8s, and the one with 4 outlets too. All 3 are plugged into a surge protector. None of them are giving any power but all have green status lights.

Green light just means they are talking to the apex brain, nothing more.

I would try plugging them directly into an outlet, or try a different power strip. If all are not working and you have green lights, then you have a bad surge protector/power strip.

I had this problem - it was caused by 2 defective chips that needed to be replaced. It took approximately 3 weeks. During that time I used a normal surge suppressor - and the controllers from the lights/pumps themselves. But - in any case - it was chips that were bad.

I see that yours was also connected to a surge suppressor (as was mine) - It was the EBB that was tripping the surge suppressor - ie causing the problem - not the surge suppressor. I would suggest you at least talk to Neptune. Mine failed the day after I left for a 2 week vacation
