Apex Temp Probe Out of Whack!

I unplugged my temp probe to re-organize some cords. Plugged it back in, and now it's telling me my tank is 96 degrees. It is only 78.3.
I have reset the apex numerous time.
I have tried to recalibrate the probe in the dashboard on the computer.
I somehow got it to drop, but it's now telling me the tank is 74 degrees. It is still 78.3

Help!

Take a cup of ice and pour just a few ounces of water to make slush. Sit 2 min then place the temp probe in the middle of the slush. You should read 32f. Calibrate it from there at 32F.

Note: before calibration rinse/clean the probe with 50/50 vinegar/rodi water mix.
