Apex trident worth it?

This is one of those hobbies where you can't just throw money around and have success. It's not like putting together a gaming pc. It's like programming the operating system in order to be able to effectively use those components. For example, you can spend a few grand on lighting, but if you don't understand the fundamentals of how lighting, alkalinity and nutrients work together in regards to corals, you'll probably end up frying everything. As mentioned, I HIGHLY recommend getting the basics down and then decide if something like Trident is worth it for you. I've been in this hobby for over 15 years and for me, I wouldn't own one. I just don't need it.
100% on point. +1

Absolutely yes, it's worth it. I had one since day one basically and it's awesome. It makes it easy to see trends. There's really not many cons besides the price.

I love r2r but I feel like it can be information overload for new hobbiest , they see what everyone with nice looking tanks is using and of course they are going to want the same equipment, to hopefully get the same results, but it really does take some skill to do this, depending the level you want to be on , the somewhat lazy, less work route usually leads to the same place. This hobby isn't work if it's something you enjoy, the more devices you get the more disconnected you get from the system. But I believe once you know the system "like the back of your hand" it's easier to incorporate these devices because you have the fundamentals down and you know what's going on and the trident is more just verifying what you already know , or better yet it says something way off and your able to say "well that can't be right" instead of adjusting something your not sure about and causing an issue . Just like anything work your way up, that's why the oldest saying in this hobby is nothing good happens quick(or somethingalong those lines) :) . Take the time, learn the system and the fundamentals, take the beginning stages of the system for what they are, the chance to learn and grow, you can always add automation as time goes on, 5 months is nothing just the beginning, I cured rock for 3 years before :)

I'm not sure I can handle the 20 new incoming threads regarding Neptune Trident. Please god no.

yeah he needs to really focus on reading and getting the basics down. plethora of information, but i don’t believe he uses the search function.
I do use the search function. The reason i make multiple threads is because i love to see different people opinion on something. U can make fun of me. And beside my tank has been nothing but success for the past 5 weeks FYI.

no. it’s not to make fun of. i would hate for you to have this opinion of this forum or it’s members. but there are plenty of threads to give you a good foundation. you could always reply to those threads(as long as they are recent posts) and look for the different opinions there.

going back through your posts you do have many valid questions. but many of them have already been answered so it gives off an idea/assumption that you are entering this hobby blindly.

BUT, congrats on the stable 5 weeks. i hope this continues for you! the first few weeks are the most critical.

Trident is excellent for so many reasons however for me not to be relied on entirely and needs checked regularly with other testing means.

I think dosing in general is something that is confusing to absorb initially in this hobby.
It seems so many 'new' people are under the impression that they need to buy all the additives and bells and whistles (not just the original poster, but myself included when I started) - when really just doing regular water changes are likely more than enough for quite some time to cover just about everything
