APEX VS APEX EL

I am considering purchasing an Apex system when I move house in 18 months or so.

Is the other difference between the APEX EL and the APEX, the fact that the EL doesn't have ORP or Salinity probes.
Or are there any other differences?

I have never owned any Neptune products before.

Neptune Systems webpage will provide the details (https://www.neptunesystems.com/apexel/). The ORP and salinity probes are the least used probes; and if you want to measure them at a future state there are add on modules you an purchase later. There are plenty of complaints about the accuracy of the salinity probe; and it is very easy to measure salinity with a refractometer. ORP is a complicated measurement to understand (I don't understand it) and I personally don't think measuring it is important for a successful reef.

I think other than the probes it is just missing the 0-10v port

You might want to look into GHL as well for a superior controller
