So i searched the forum before I posted.

just bought a an Apex Wav and not matter what I do the dang thing runs like it’s at full speed. Set at 1% and it still shows 4400 rpm.

Way too much flow for my standard size 120.

anyone else have a fix before I return or call customer support ?
Photos show the settings to be clear…

You have to set the entire schedule, ie: 4, 12, 24 hours, etc. Then set the program mode to "Auto" (not On, which will override the programming).
Ty I’ll try that, so i guess on just makes it go balls out?

You got it. On is typically used for lights or other devices that you can't or don't want to control through the Apex. Everything but lights on my Apex setup is set to Auto so I can either control it directly or power it on or off.

Yeah many people turn it to on and that is an issue.
You don't need to set an entire schedule though. I have 2 of mine set at 40% on mavericks only one set point at 00:00 and the other 2 I have set to different intensities throughout the day.
I like the mavericks better than Malibu, start at a certain point like 10% them work from there.

In your Op what’s the diff between mavericks and malibu

Mavericks is a high flow mode whereas Malibu is a soft flow

but can’t you even them out by adjusting the %.

Or is it more of a biggger swing and push between cycles?

Bigger swing between both. I use the malibu mostly with mine

I feel the surges are better with the mavericks, but I'm dealing with a mixed reef and going sps mainly acropora heavy. My turnover with just the wavs is at 45 to 50 times.

TY,
I’m Mixed reef also heavy SPS manly Arcos

My acropora seem to be loving it. The only things that have issues are the RBTA'S they walk around quit a bit since my patterns are sporadic getting flow everywhere in the tank.

Nevermind i just reread through.
Beautiful tank by the way.
The best way I've found to use them which was first in our 100 and our 180 was 1 on the back just in from the side a little kind of facing up and about a foot in on the front panel then on the opposite side place it on the side angled up and aimed about middle of the front glass.
This is roughly still how I have them set on our 300 but I'm running 4 of them.

Are you running 1 wav or 2?
Just one as I have a coralvue gyre 4000k and 2000k, they are set high in the tank on opposite ends, I added the Wav for more pulsing and mid level flow to try to help keep detritus from building up..

Since you have those try mavericks at like 20%
Just 1 point you don't need multiple and see how that does then adjust percentage from there. But you need to watch it a run the full cycle before making adjustments to be accurate.
