Hi, I am trying not to lose a socket to a 6 way... I have 3 possible things I hope that can run off of eb4 or 8. Please let me know which, if any are possible.

finnex 300w titanium heater
led strip on block ac adapter
tunze ato

Thanks :)

No one knows?

I also have another option that I could switch to eb4 or eb8 a wp25. If I remember correctly eb4 & 8 are just not soft start and max power of 12v outlets so I think the ato, wp25 powerhead and led might all be fine to utilize those 2 outlets. Yes?

I don't think anyone understands the original statement. What socket on a 6-way? Anyhow. I have four EB-8's for a total of 48 outlets. I run anything I want on any outlet.

Anything you can plug in the wall you can plug into an energy bar. The only thing is that outlets 1-3 and 5-7 on the EB8 are electronic and if what you plug in is really low wattage they might not turn off. If you are not sure plug it in and test it and make sure every time the outlet is off in the software it is off in real life. I would check out the led lights and the tunze ATO.

The EB4 controls all outlets with relays so you can plug anything in anywhere.

As I understand #4 & #8 Are hard start with 1-3 & 5- 7 being soft start. So things like ato and dosing should be on 4 or 8 or risk them not shutting off. But I was wondering if a heater or powerhead would be ok on 4 or 8?

You can tech run all those off either a eb4 or 8. The heater if running on an 8 I would run on sockets 4 or 8. A eb4 you can run on any socket since they are all relays.

As for the tunze ato you can hook it up to a socket and program it to shut on/off with your return pump

Thank you :D I have 3 eb8s on 1 head unit (2 on the 180g and 1 on the 45g.) All #4 & #8 sockets on each are unused mainly because I wasn't sure what I could run on them without a problem. I also wanted to know what equipment I could/should mover to the 4 and 8 sockets safely and/or that shouldn't be plugged into the 1-3 & 5-7 sockets.

For example:
My heater is on #6 on the 180 and #5 on the 45g so I should move them to sockets 4 or 8 correct?

Yes I would move the heaters to those sockets. Less likely to fail from the constant switching.

Thank you :D That is what I was concerned with...
Should I also move the rw&wp power heads or do you think they'll be ok?

I have an old Neptune AC III that is ten years old. Still works like a charm. Neptune products are solid. Honestly I wouldn't worry about wearing out an outlet with a heater.

Having a problem! I have every thing up and running but my return that is on socket 3 starts, stoos, starts, stops.... every 30 seconds even if I set it to always on :( I have my 180 set on socket number 3 also so I don't understand what's going on.

If you need to run a low power inductive load (low power pump) on a triac controlled output just add a surge protector between the ouput and pump. Make sure the surge protector has a clamping voltage of 330 volts. Test the output by turning it on and off and make sure the device does turn off correctly.

Wait a minute what about the sockets?
I might need some help with this.
Is it only socket 4 and 8 or is it sockets 4 thru 8?
So what would u put halides on? Or your return pumps? Moonlights and led accents?
Or skimmer?

Shoot this threw a monkey wrench into my plan of plug and play

And u have been having some problems with ur apex lately I hope u figure this one or as well.

Nevermind.... I panicked then got over it and realized maybe my ballast got switched somehow with the powerhead. Yep that was it [emoji12]

Ok so I think I'm done pestering everyone lol. Now I'm off to build a 20l frag tank. No apex .... yet

EB 4's are great for on and off on all plugs. I am glad you have this one figured out:)
