Guys,
I’m going down the automated route cos I’m fed up with testing and getting inaccurate results resulting in making mistakes

Am I right in thinking the Neptune apex tests for kh,calc and mag or does have ph, orp probe allowance ?
Also, what about phos and nitrate?

Apex - salinity, PH, temp, ORP
Trident- Calc, Mag, Alk
Trident NP- Nitrate, Phosphate

Neptune has the Trident which tests for Ca, Alk, and Mag then the Trident NP which does Nitrate and Phosphate. Depending on which Apex you get (Jr, Apex, or Pro) will determine whether you get extra ports for ORP, leak detection, etc... without needing an extra module.

Apex is the "brain", you have to start there. Then you add the Trident for parameter testing. If you know you want a Trident you have to get an A2 or newer Apex, no Apex classic, minimum is Apex EL I believe.

I have a Apex & Neptune. As long as you keep the probes clean, its accuracy is approx. 90%. It's not 100% accurate, but it will keep you in a safe ballpark as far as parameters and will send you notifications if things go south. You will learn to adjust to its inaccuracies and what causes them to give you the parameters you want. That being said, I love mine. Even tho I rely on it, I still manually test parameters at least once a month and still use a refractometer when doing my water changes. looking forward to purchasing the Trident NP for my Nitrate & Phosphate testing.
