Who has had problems with the equipment and think it's over priced for the quality?

Just using one for basic things.

My lastest box went bad in the best 10 days, but Neptune got on the job (Phone Appointment) found the prob, sent it in, and got it back real fast.
Has never hiccuped since.

Still on Apex Classic (ph, temp with 4 switches) and it's been a good ride. The DOS pumps are great and feel like the ApexEL comes with a good price.

Trident may be overpriced counting reagent cost and having it serviced from time to time, but run an Alkatronic so never tried Trident which would have made me upgrade up from Classic as well.

fwiw
To be honest, have seen GHL users having to deal with more frustrating issues from time to time.

When my Classic bites the dust, the Hydros Control 4 would fit my needs.

At this point, the Hydros can't do anything compared to the Apex.

It fits my needs, I only use the ph probe on my Apex to read and control (with a long graph) the ph inside my calcium reactor, the Alkatronic is my cal reactor's second fail-safe.

lol
Don't want a controller to do full automation.

But, I do understand what you mean... :)

There are plenty of neptune products I wouldn't buy- ATK, FMM, flow meters, optical sensors, COR 15&20, leak detectors, trident etc.

Just realize the average lifespan for anything electronic under water is two years. If you have your controller anywhere near water plan on it failing. Otherwise I'm very happy with all of my purchases- two el's, a jr, a 2016 and about 30 eb's/modules. I found a great way to integrate the alkatronic, apex and dos pumps.

Did you get another PM1 module so you can see your Alkatronic's alk readings in Fusion?

Yes sir however if you have an ORP port you can reassign it as a pH port and use it to link the apex and tronic.

Did not have an ORP port, so got another PM1 module.

It reads within .1 dKH to the Alka-T's output... :D

The alkatronic rounds it’s test value +/- 0.05 dkh to the closest .1 value. For instance, a 9.67 test rounds up to a 9.70 value to be sent through the BCN connection. The signal varies a bit in the apex graph and will read 9.69-9.72dkh.

I've been working on integrating the tronic and apex for some time. You may find some of this info handy... https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/i...-and-dos-for-stable-alkalinity-and-ph.784144/

I have been happy with Apex overall for the 2+ years I’ve owned it. I did have a brain fail that was a nightmare but I also keep a full spare apex and pumps. Nothing like swapping a brain and trying to get the connections in order. Luckily it didn’t happen while we were away. You also get access to fusion both via an app and anywhere you have an internet connection at no extra charge. There is cost associated with that as well

Sorry, all that was probably more than you needed but... now you know!

Your threads and links are really good... ;Bookworm

Thanks for teaching me that Fusion rounds up and down, makes sense

I was wondering why you don't private message him instead of using my thread to talk about it
