API Algaefix

I have a small hair algae problem going on in my tank. In my smaller tank I have used peroxide to get rid of it in the past but don't want to use it in my bigger tank. I have a bottle of API Marine Algaefix and wanted to see how effective it is with controlling hair algae and if their are any side affects. It says that it is safe for everything in my tank and will not harm them. I wanted to see if anyone has used it before and if they had any success.

Check the expiration date on the bottle. Twice I’ve seen harmful effects on fish with the product administered after that date on other people’s tanks. Not at all sure what goes wrong with the Algaefix but true story. Also, the product isn’t called Phosfix. I think that’s where your focus needs to be. Good luck bud.

It and the Tetra knockoff kill fish all the time, expired or not.
