I have a question, when you are looking down the vile, next to the color circles, should the vile be flat against the white or in the "air"?

I have a question, when you are looking down the vile, next to the color circles, should the vile be flat against the white or in the "air"?

Flat against the white. You can slide it up or down (or right to left) to compare against the colors, but always keep the bottom of the test tube against the white background. It sometimes helps to take it outside and view under natural sunlight.
