can I add API general cure to my reef tank? I have a sick clown fish. I posted a thread had no responses. She has a bump on her face that has bee there for three days and listing when she swims. Eating fine and water parameters are fine. All fish and corals are fine as well. Thanks for any help, or suggestions.

Never used that before maybe post a pic of the fish.

I don't think it can go in the display..
@Humblefish will be able to tell you for sure.

Also, in the future there is a fish disease subforum where it would get more attention. Maybe a mod can move this thread for you..

Thanks, I'm kind of new here, will post it there.

I would not dose API General Cure in a DT (because of the metronidazole part of it.) I also don't think GC will help with the bump anyway or that it even requires treatment. I would soak the fish's food with vitamin supplements (exs. Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem) to boost the immune system to deal with this naturally. It's either a minor infection or Lymphocystis (harmless virus).

Thank you so much!! I really love my fish. Will do as you suggested. Just curious, what would I use the API for? And do you think the other fish might get the infection?

It's primarily a dewormer - flukes and intestinal worms. It contains praziquantel & metronidazole. The latter does have some antiparasitic properties and can be used to treat brook & uronema (two external parasites.)
