Been lurking around this forum for some time. Joined since you have a dedicated emergency section...

I have been long fighting GHA in my tank for months and try as I might can't get it under control. Two days ago I took to drastic measures and began treatment with API Marine Algaefix. Tank is a 55 gallon with 10 gallon sump. I'm treating at the 50 gallon prescribed level.
I also stopped dosing with vinegar and began Red Sea NO3: PO4-X at the 50 gallon prescribed level.

Yesterday, all seemed OK. Today (Day three of treatment) I came home to find my Bubble Tip Anemone folded in on itself as in the picture.

I'm tempted to stop all treatment and see what happens but is it too late for this anemone? I'll also be doing a water change as soon as my reserve water warms up.

The anemone is small and had a prior issue from which it's been recovering somewhat nicely. I'm ashamed to have caused damage as it seems I have.

Water specs:
Phosphate .03 (Hanna)
KH: 7.7 (Titration Test)
Nitrate 15 PPM (API Test)
PH: 8.0 (API Test)
0 amonia (API Test)
0 nitrite (API TEST)

I need to get rid of the algae but don't want to harm anything if I can avoid it.

Tank is 5 years old.
Algae problem is 8 months old after some water quality / excess nutrient issues.

Well it's open again this morning so maybe I freaked out too much. Time will tell I guess

I would recommend for this situation, a sea hare. It is a lot and the hare will mow it right down. I had to twice and once eradicated, I gave the sea hare to the LFS and told them to make some money and sell it again.
What CUC (clean up crew ) do you have on hand? Does your LFS sell lawnmower blennies? They do well too on this stuff

CUC is various snails and a few blue legs. Snails are a mix of Turbot, Astrea, Nassarius, and a couple of a type escaping me now. A pistol shrimp that just hangs under its rock, and a Peppermint shrimp. I'm slowly bolstering this group trying to combat it too. I don't want to end up overdoing it though.

I added a lawnmower Blenny one month ago now. It seems mostly interested in perching on the sand bed though. It's really cool but more interested in carnivorous food than algae I've observed. LFS said it'd be voracious on the GHA but it didn't get the memo.

I also have a Bicolor Blenny that hides in the live rock but I've not seen it eat much one way or the other.
