API test kit

Hello is the api test kit worth it? It’s 40$ and I check my basic primates with a hanna checker so was wondering if it’d be worth trying this every couple weeks

You're asking about the ATI icp test not the API test kit, that's the confusing.

ICP is a whole different world.
I have used both the ICP and Triton. They are both good tools to really get in depth with Parameters. Test kits themselves will determine the essentials such as Mag, Alk, Calcium, copper, Phosphates, nitrates, etc.
If you are having concerns or want an in-depth analysis as to " Just How is my tank doing". . . Yes worth the $40

Was just doing my water tests and was going to ask about API. Was doing Nitrate. KH/ALK. Magnesium All using Salifert test kit and got good clear easy to read results. My Phosphate test was done with the API, and results are harder to read with the chart. Don’t know if I should give it a .0 - .5

Which is exactly why API is garbage for anything other than cycling a tank. You want a resolution of .01 for your phosphate test, not .25 like API has.
