Is 0.25ppm is too high to keep sps?
N03 0ppm(API)
Tank been running for ~8-9 months
This the first time I very testing the water
Beside Alk 9.1dkh with HANNA checker

No, it's not too high. Depending on the coral and the intensity of the light you may get some browning , Esp w some acros.

But test a couple times to make sure the reading is accurate.

Really depends on the acro. Some don't seem to care ime. My frog skin grew like a weed with high Po4 w no probs. A few of my yellows too.
Stylo doesn't care. Nor a lot of monti etc.

I would not mess with the lights at all. Put it in an move it around and see what happens.

I see that you are getting serious about testing, You will read about test kits and others have there opinions about test kits. What I would suggest is comparing tests against one another and the real number can be averaged.

What is the concern about your question? algae, coral growth?

i'm an lps guy,but started to get into sps
Monti are doing fine, but some of the acro are starting to turn brown.
The concern is sps acro coloring

Are you testing your nutrients? Phosphates and nitrates? The system needs to be feed, feed, and not dry food;)

Add some reef nutrition Oyster feast and some vitamin C.

What are you dosing this system?

I found that by dosing the Balling Method and reef salt I have had great success with keeping my parameters steady and elements stable;)

75g system with 5g water change every week with fritz salt
Dosing 2parts 10 ml per day
5 fishes

No, phosphate is not too high. :)

The nitrate may (or may not) be too low. The API kit may not have the sensitivity to tell.
