API vs Salifert Nitrate testing

I wanted to post the results of 2 tests API and Salifert on Nitrate tests.

Well not sure it is. api is at 5.0 ppm. Salifert is at 2.5 if you convert it

on Salifert it shows 25 so if you divide that by 10 it will come out to 2.5 which = 2.5 on API

No, you don’t convert unless you compare colors by looking sideways through the cup.

Salifert looks like 25ppm, API looks around 20ppm. Pretty close!

ahhhhh ok got it. thanks all for confirming. it was first test I used Salifert, and on a different post it said to divide by 10.

The division by 10 is used to get lower results than what the color card shows... so, for example...if you think your reading is between 0-2 and hard to distinguish, you can look sideways thru the cup and compare the color to those on the card...if sideways it looks like a 10ppm, then divide that by 10 and you get your really low 1ppm.
