apogee SQ-420 par meter questions/review

has anyone used this par meter sensor? it plugs into mac or windows and results are displayed through the apogee software. any drawbacks to this vs the $100+ more expensive ones. i have a seneye i bought used and only have Mac OS machines so to get it runnings i would have to spend another hundred at least for a crappy windows tablet. might as well sell the seneye and buy this is my reasoning.

I think @jda was mentioning something about the details of this model recently. Maybe take a quick search through his posts, as he was helping someone with their par readings with this recently...

MQ-520 has a better sensor and all immersion and correction factors already applied. The 520 is technically better, but if you understand the sensor chart and can do simple math, you can get most of what you need from this meter.

Both of these are better than the SenEye, IMO.
