Looked up your model and it doesn't state that it's submersible,could well be that your not getting the right par reading since your using it for the aquarium.I got the MQ-510 cause it states it's submersible.Might want to contact the manufacture and ask about it.

I have it and it's submersible. I heard it's meh also, but for my lighting needs T5's and led's it's close enough within +-5% of the mq510 which I tested it against.
