Good afternoon,
I was curious as to what the approximate level of Alk i would be adding to my tank depending on kalk strength. I am currently using BRS 2 part which is 2 cups of soda ash and dosing 6ml daily. I have been battling ph that is favoring being too low and would like to use kalk ato to help boost it a bit. I have my skimmer running off of air from outside but with the tank being in my room i think i am still getting low ph from the CO2 level in the evenings. If nothing else i may mix up a half tsp per gallon kalk mix and just start testing to see what happens.
And i live in WI so i cant just crack a window all the time.

Thanks in advance,
Steven

Full strength limewater (kalkwasser) is about 46 times less potent than the two part, so you need to dose roughly 46 times more volume than each part of the two part each day to match the alk and calcium addition addition.

One last question. If my co2 level in the tank is high (Im assuming it is as my cal and alk numbers are towards the top of the range) the reaction between the kalk and co2 in the tank will happen over time which is what will raise the pH? Or will i see the change in pH very quickly?
Thank you Chemistry Master.

The effect is instantaneous. As soon as the limewater mixes in, the pH rises and free CO2/H2CO3 declines.
